The G Hotel Galway

The G Hotel Galway is one of the most exciting and elegant spaces I have ever been in.
The hotel was designed by the Architectural firm Douglas Wallace in conjunction with famous Irish Milliner Philip Treacy.  Treacy drew inspiration from the landscape and sea shores of Galway and created sophisticated and relaxing space. The sea shell form is represented in many different ways throughout the hotel, the white curving wall behind the reception desk,  all the door handles and each room has a different shell cushion on the bed.

The Pink Room
I love the contrast of the the black and white optical illusion rug against the pink. The chairs are covered in Andy Warhol camouflage fabric.  This room reminds me of the work of Interior Designer Kelly Wrestlers. She was also influenced by old Hollywood glamour.
Rivo Restaurant
Different coloured velvet chairs create a sense of fun.

The Grand Salon is the first room you enter and makes a real impact with it's double height space, large fllor to ceiling windows and amazing Tom Dixon light feature.

With so much colour downstairs Treacy went a more neutral and calming colour pallet in the bedrooms.

21 Spaces

21spaces is a multidisciplinary interior architecture and design consultancy based in Dublin. I became aware of their work when I was at a Wedding in the amazing Seafield Hotel in Ballymoney in Co Wexford. I was so impressed  and inspired by the design of the hotel interiors and ever since have followed there work. Below are a few images of different projects they have done.

Frames and Fake Flowers

Creative way of hanging some picture frames.
I got the picture frames and the rose prints in Ikea and then bought some ribbon in the lovely ribbon shop  A. Rubanesque in the Powerscourt Townhouse  http://www.arubanesque.ie. Using a staple gun I secured the ribbon to the back of the frames and then tied a big bow at the top.

More creative cushions

Here is a new cushion I made today. I made it using
some fabric scraps I got from a local fabric shop.
